Flight to Hood River with stop @ Cascade Locks

Took advantage of some great flying weather and hit two strips I've been wanting to visit in the Gorge, Hood River and Cascade Locks.

Though I didn't get a good shot of the strip, Cascade Locks is a beautiful little strip right on the Columbia, but I do mean little as it only weighs in at 1800X30ft!

I thought this bridge at Astoria, spanning the Columbia River where it finaly meets the ocean was picture-worthy.

I found there are a number of airstrips along the coast that I need to visit. This is one of them, KAST

It started out a wee bit cloudy... I got to practice flying with instruments in real IFR.

Conditions improved as we neared Seattle

It was even clear enough we got to watch the submarine races!

Last night we gathered at the famed Crystal Ballroom for our annual Residents Banquet, 80's style! Oh Pop Rocks and Rubek's Cubes...I miss you!

AJ grew this moustache in about 4 days, way to go Porn Star!
